Podcast/Video Interviews by Stephen Ibaraki A Chat with Luca Stevanato: Expert in neutron and gamma detection; Founder and CEO, Finapp srl This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Luca Stevanato. Luca Stevanato graduated with honors in Nuclear Physics at the University of Padova in 2009. From 2009 he had worked at the Physics Department of Padua, where in 2012 he defended his PhD on innovative nuclear technique for non-destructive analysis. From 2012 to 2022 he was a researcher in the field of applied nuclear physics and from 2016 he was lecturer the Physics Laboratory course at the master's degree in physics. He is an expert in neutron and gamma detection. He worked in several European projects where he became an expert in the realization of ionizing radiation detection systems. He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals on topic related to neutron detection and research through non-destructive analysis of nuclear materials. He holds five patents in the field of nuclear physics, two in homeland security and three for the measurement of water with neutrons. In 2018 he founded the company Finapp srl, of which he is CEO. From the beginning of 2022 he left university to devote himself completely to the management of the company. The company is a spin-off of the University of Padua with a high technological content and for this reason it has received the status of an innovative srl. The business idea is an innovative sensor that uses cosmic radiation to measure the amount of water stored in the soil. |
