This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Malek El Husseini.

Malek El HusseiniMalek El Husseini is an Operating Partner. He is a biomedical engineer with more than 30 years of experience as a healthcare executive, investor, and asset manager, with a focus on designing and scaling value-based, technology-enabled care models in the Middle East and GCC.

Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. El Husseini served as Healthcare Asset Manager at SEE CAPITAL. Before that, he served as CEO of Byrne Equipment Rental. Mr. El Husseini also served as Healthcare Operating Partner, Alternative Investment at Qatar First Bank. Earlier in his career, Mr. El Husseini spent ten years at GE Healthcare, including leadership positions in diagnostic cardiology and regional healthcare investments, and has also served as Director, Middle East at the ECRI Institute with focus on healthcare technology assessment and as Chief Biomedical Engineer at Tawam Hospital.

Mr. El Husseini holds a B.A. in Electronics Engineering from Lebanese University and a Master's of Engineering in Clinical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
