A Chat with Leslie Helpert: Voice-engineering innovator with over 25 years of applied therapeutic and performative voice research; Founder, Technevox, Seasoned composer and performer

This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Leslie Helpert.

Leslie HelpertLeslie Helpert is a voice-engineering innovator with over 25 years of applied therapeutic and performative voice research, advancing the study of non-linguistic voice signals and their systemic biological implications for bio-inspired computational design. She is the founder of Technevox, a deep-tech platform developing the first fully voice-driven, medical-grade 4D internal imaging infrastructure-reconstructing internal physiological state using subsurface voice signals as a self-generated excitation field.

Leslie has worked directly with thousands of voices-including those of high-security prisoners, global executives, leading performers, and individuals facing chronic or terminal conditions-informing a multidisciplinary approach that treats voice as a biological system and living tool for mathematics and computational physics, rather than as "sound" or "language." She is building Technevox as Voice for Good: the development and stewardship of voice as a safe, noninvasive sensing utility capable of informing breakthroughs in life sciences, medical imaging and digital twins, biospatial intelligence, robotics, autonomous systems, and responsible AI design.
