This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Dr. Sabrina Hsueh.

Dr. Sabrina HsuehDr. Sabrina Hsueh is a distinguished leader in AI innovation and strategy across both Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial environments. She currently serves as the AI Enablement and External Innovation Lead at Pfizer. Dr. Hsueh is a recognized expert in architecting trustworthy AI solutions and adoption roadmaps that balance breakthrough innovation with responsible development. With a Ph.D. in Informatics, her extensive background includes key positions at IBM Industrial Research Department as Behavioral Analytics team lead, Academy of Technology Member, and Chair of the Health Informatics Community. She has also been a leader in health AI startups backed by prominent VCs like a16z and Khosla Ventures.

A strong advocate for cross-organizational AI initiatives and industrial standards, Dr. Hsueh is a leading voice in public-private partnerships. Her leadership extends to the Practitioners Board of ACM and advisory roles with the United Nations (UN)-AI for Good Initiatives. She has also served on the steering committees of professional societies such as the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), where she was elected a Fellow, and its international counterpart IMIA, where she led the founding of international working groups for establishing sector-based industrial standards. Her extensive innovations and thought leadership are further demonstrated through her portfolio of 12 U.S. patents, over 80 technical articles, multiple invited editorships, and her role as co-editor and author of the Springer Nature-published textbook "Personal Health Informatics: Patient Participation in Precision Health."
