Jonathan Hecht: Head of Pandemic Resource Team; Expert in global macro systems; Strategist and Jon Gosier: Tech and Crisis response; Data and Analytics

This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Jonathan Hecht and Jon Gosier.

Jonathan HechtJonathan Hecht is head of the Pandemic Resource Team and an expert in global macro systems.

At 21, he became the youngest researcher ever to publish in History of Political Thought, the world's leading political theory journal. His research focus was on macro level trends across long historical periods.

After declining a Fulbright for personal reasons, Jonathan interviewed 57 industry leading CEOs across 30 countries. They discussed wealth inequality, their society's politics and ethics, their obligations to society as economic leaders, and the local economic and business climates.

This led to a position as a strategist working directly under the CEO at Robinson Global Strategies, a global macro strategy consulting firm working with dozens of hedge funds and families offices with up to $100 billion assets under management.

Jonathan also serves on multiple advisory boards, including lending company, a North American distributor for German medical devices, and a conflict resolution non-profit.

Prior to the Pandemic, Jonathan was focusing his energies on building a global bank for social good.

 

Jon GosierJon Gosier is an executive who has spent 10 years building tech companies to acquisition with a particular focus on data and analytics. He is the Producer of several films and published author.

In tech, and with his investments, he is focused on creating new business models in the entertainment industry. His last company, Audigent, provided artists like Camila Cabello, Madonna, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Shakira, Rihanna, Jay-Z, and other entertainers with new ways of monetizing data. Among the partners, past and present, including Warner Music, Broadscale, Spotify, Tidal, and Nielsen Entertainment.

Prior to that he was best known for working in crisis response and counter-intelligence in East Africa. While living in Uganda co-founded various organizations in Africa, including a network of tech innovation hubs that now reaches 90+ cities across the continent. Also founded Appfrica, a tech consultancy that serviced the continent and that went on to stimulate over $80M in new economic activity. Former Director at Ushahidi, which is estimated to have reached more than 25 million people with its open source products. Work in these areas was lauded by The White House in 2010, 2012, and 2013 and culminated in a 2014 TED Talk.

Lead data projects for Jefferson Health, Nielsen, EMC, Google, Facebook, FEMA, InQTel, Intuit, The Web Foundation, The World Bank, U.S. Department of State, Wounded Warriors, Department of Defense (DoD), Lockheed Martin, United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and the Air Force National Guard (DOD – USAF).

Alum of Savannah College of Art and Design and the THNK School of Creative Leadership and Innovation. Guest lecturer and presenter at Yale, Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Lund University in Sweden, NYU, Rollins College, Wharton, Temple, Drexel, U Penn and more.
