A Chat with Keith Strier, VP, Worldwide AI Initiatives at NVIDIA; Chairman of the OECD's AI Compute Taskforce

This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Keith Strier.

Keith StrierKeith Strier is Vice President, Worldwide AI Initiatives at NVIDIA, and is responsible for growing NVIDIA's global public sector business as well as leading NVIDIA's AI Nations partnership program. In this role, Keith is a trusted advisor to Heads of State and Government Ministers in allied countries worldwide, helping them to build the AI infrastructure and ecosystems necessary to support their domestic policy agenda with an emphasis on prosperity, security and innovation. Keith is also the Executive Sponsor of market growth initiatives including NVIDIA's collaboration with global systems integrators and robotic process automation vendors.

In December 2020, the OECD Secretariat in Paris appointed Keith as first Chairman of the OECD's AI Compute Taskforce, established to develop AI compute policy recommendations for OECD countries. In this role, Keith is leading a team of the world's top AI experts from industry, academia and government to formulate the first unified policy framework for measuring and benchmarking domestic AI compute capacity. The output of this OECD Taskforce is expected to shape national AI programs and infrastructure investments across the 36 OECD nations.

Previously, Keith was a Senior Partner and the founding Global AI Consulting Practice leader for EY, the $36B global professional services firm. Keith emerged as one of the first global advisory experts on national AI plans in 2017, co-authoring plans for multiple countries, including Estonia and Malta. Before EY, Keith was a Senior Partner and the first Global Chief Digital Officer for Deloitte, which is today the world’s largest digital consultancy. Keith led the strategic vision, UX design, and app development to deliver a digital workplace experience for 250,000 employees across 150 countries. At Deloitte, Keith also conceived and designed one of the first-ever enterprise iPad productivity suites, tailored to the needs of Deloitte leaders, which was publicly recognized by Apple as one of the top enterprise iPads apps of 2012.

Keith has a Bachelor of Science with Honors from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations and a Law Degree from New York University's School of Law. Keith was also a visiting lecturer and advisor at Harvard Medical School's Center for BioMedical Informatics for ten years, serving as an industry liaison and event facilitator for the Center's Chairman, Dr. Zak Kohane.
