A crucial part of his role is to educate customers and partners on industry trends and issues, and key security product developments at Microsoft. Derick has worked for over eleven years in the Canadian IT security sector. He brings extensive knowledge of enterprise security solutions and best-practice security consulting services to his current position. Prior to joining Microsoft, he co-founded IPSS InfoPeople Security Solutions. In his role as CEO and managing partner at IPSS, he was responsible for developing the security consulting practice and coordinating the security engineering team. He has also held security-related positions at Intellitactics Inc. and Ernst & Young LLP. Derick holds a Masters of Accounting (MAcc) from the University of Waterloo and several professional designations, including CISSP and CA.
