Michael Palumbo, Data Innovation and AI Architect, Rolls-Royce

This week, Stephen Ibaraki has an exclusive interview with Michael Palumbo.

Michael Palumbo is technologist who is passionate about artificial intelligence and disruptive innovation. He’s an advocate for digital transformation at Rolls-Royce, a historic industrial brand, where he teaches and motivates practitioners to spur culture change, and educates managers to help transform business models.

Michael joined Rolls-Royce after receiving his MS in Astronautics & Aeronautics from Purdue University. His research at the Rolls-Royce High Mach University Technology Centre studied the effects of thermoacoustic oscillations of supercritical fluids in compact heat exchangers. While at Rolls-Royce, he discovered a passion for data and has been addicted ever since. He has developed a variety of skills in machine learning, data engineering, solution architecture, and application development. Several of his projects have been firsts for Rolls-Royce in the digital space, including pioneering the application of the cloud and machine learning.
